An original rock and roll jam band based out of the Philadelphia area. Formed in December of 1997, this five piece band (Jason White, Carl Strahl, Mick Swan, Kris Williams and Alan Biehn) has steadily grown into a solid unit as musicians, songwriters and performers. Little Big Thing is a difficult band to pigeonhole. Their original songs offer a unique blend of classic rock, freeform jams, psychedelic excursions, driving hard rock, and an obvious affinity for pop hooks. Their distinctive double guitar style and three part harmony vocals over a driving rhythm section gives LBT a sound that is truly unique. In true Rock and Roll style, Little Big Thing's live show has grown over the years into an always changing and entertaining spectacle. From a full fledged light show ran by LBT's own light designer Erik Zinger to the band's ability to play without a set list. Mixing great catchy originals and covers Little Big Thing always puts on a live show that leaves people coming back time and time again. |

October 29th - A pre Halloween Show at Puck Live First a huge thank you to all the people who came out to our first successful gig at Puck Live in Doylestown over Labor Day Weekend. We had a great time and we were told by more than one person that it was one of our better shows of the year. With this success we are proud to say that Puck Live has thought of us when one of their acts canceled their show. We will proudly be playing Thursday, October 29th. The show will feature just LBT at an 8:30 pm start time and goes till 11pm. This show will be inside in their main room which features one of the best sound systems in the area. A real nice place to see LBT. A $5.00 cover will be charged at the door. We will also be bringing back Mitch Bormack on keyboard adding a great new twist on your favorite LBT songs. So with an early start time, in a kick ass room with a great sound system there are plenty of good reasons to come and join us for what promises to be a great show. Also, DO NOT FORGET, the TURKEY HANGOVER Pt. Duex at John and Peter's, November 27th. Last year's show was just jam packed with lots of out of town friends and everyone had a great time. These will most likely be the last LBT shows for the year. So we hope to see you there. Click here for directions to the show.. End of the Summer Bash... It comes and goes so fast.. The long days, hot temps, the bbqs, beach days and summer vacations. So this year before we all settle in for that first football game, LBT will be throwing an End of Summer Bash. This one is gonna be great! We are excited to announce that we will be playing for the first time "officially" at Puck Live in Doylestown, PA. This is one really cool venue. Located in the heart of downtown Doylestown this venue has it all. A great live room downstairs, a martini bar upstairs and a kick ass outdoor patio and bar. Working in conjunction with the staff of Puck Live we have come up with a great end of summer show. Details, details, details you ask??? Ok, Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, September 6th.... The music begins at 5pm with ????? opening for Little Big Thing. We hit the stage bout 6:30p.m. and will go till 10p.m. But it doesn't end there. While we are playing outside on the patio, starting at 7p.m., Puck Live will also be hosting Blues Sunday downstairs in the main music room as well with Rough Mix Band playing. Here is the best part... There is no cover charge for either event. Blues downstairs, Rock upstairs. So feel free to roam around and check out all the great music. Puck Live will also be having burger and beer specials that night as well. It goes without saying that LBT will have some really cool new tricks up our sleeves for this first time show at Puck Live. We could really use the support as we plan on pulling out all the stops for this event. Be sure to invite and/or drag your friends along. So lets recap... Labor Day Weekend - Sunday, September 6th. 5p.m. - 10 p.m. Blues downstairs, LBT upstairs, NO COVER, burger and beer specials. That makes for one hell of a party.. Click here for directions to the show... Two Down Two to GO!! Hope summer finds all of you well. LBT is having a great summer and getting ready for some more fun. Little Big Thing is gearing up for a rare Sunday Afternoon gig next Sunday, July 26th. If you have not been out to Shady Brook Farm in Yardley to see LBT now is the time. The fun begins at 1pm. As we have stated before this is a great place to see LBT. Shady Brook Farm has something for everyone. Wine tasting for the adults, a playground for the kids, ice cream, food, and LBT providing some of the best music of their long history together. With over a half dozen gigs this year the band is playing better than we have ever. So come out and enjoy LBT and all that Shady Brook Farm has to offer. >> www.shadybrookfarm.com Summertimes Rolls Summer is here! Ok, so it has done nothing but rain for the last month but it does beat those 95 degree days with 100% humidity. The band was really bummed out when our last gig got rained out. We have been itching to play and this Friday we get to unload it into a full night of LBT madness at John and Peter's. No surprises, no frills, no tricks up our sleeves this time. Just 100% pure Little Big Thing. This will be our kick off to summer. We have four shows in the next two months and we can not wait to get it started. Here is the complete low down on this summer's gigs. March 08 They call it Rock and Roll for a reason! Because when you want to rock sometimes you have to roll with it... First the second annual Carl and Friends Birthday Bash was pushed back one month due to scheduling conflicts and now with more scheduling conflicts the line-up for the show has been changed. Due to scheduling conflicts it appears Kris will not be able to play drums for us next weekend. Not to fear, we are a rock band and we can roll with it. Filling in on drums for the evening will be Alan Biehn. Alan has played with us before and brings a third harmony to the mix. If you have not seen us play with Alan before NOW is the time to catch it. He always brings the vocals to another level and did I mention he plays drums pretty good as well. Keeping with the spirit of the Carl and FRIENDS we have a few surprises up our sleeves as well. Our good friend Ed Packlin will also be joining us behind the drum kit as well. With two guest drummers and other guest vocalist joining in the mix it's gonna be a hell of a fun evening. The show gets under way around 9ish and goes all night.. The cover is $5 at the door at John and Peter's in New Hope, PA. For directions go to http://www.fishbowlmediagroup.com/LBT08/thedirections.html In other news, back in 2002 LBT started working on new material for an album which was never recorded. But out of those sessions came THE DELI TAPES. Thirteen new LBT songs recorded in the Deli where we rehearsed for years. The songs were circulated around among friends and fans for years. Fast-forward seven years, THE DELI TAPES are back. Remastered and sounding better than ever you can go to our music page on our website and download them all for free in their NEW Remastered form.... Some of us in the band do not even have copies of these yet. Be the first to get them.... http://www.fishbowlmediagroup.com/LBT08/music.html |
